Are international students considered OOS or just as Internation Students

I'm an internationl student in the U.S. who will be a senior

after this delightful summer!

When an international student applies to a state schools

like UVA, UNC, UMAA and many other prestigious state schools,

is he/she considered as an OOS student or international pool?

You will be a part of the international pool.

You need to find out if you can be considered in-state at any of the public colleges/universities in the state where you reside and/or will complete high school. Each state (and sometimes each public institution within a state) sets its own policy about this so you will need to do some investigation.

In general terms, unless you are qualified to apply for federally determined (FAFSA) financial aid, you are an international student. Some public colleges/universities have separate fee scales for OOS and for international students. Most don’t. Again this is something that you will need to pay close attention to.

Wishing you all the best.
