My daughter didn’t like dresses much and wore lots of cute rompers/jumpsuits to church etc. But she rarely needed to use the restroom. (I remember trying to get her to go to the restroom at an airport layover when she was young, and she said “Mommmmmm, I went before we left home”).
This thread made me think of the old red flannel Union suits
Then I ran into this site:
I wore a silky cream jump suit on one of early dates with my husband to a formal holiday party.
Would this be appropriate for a wedding guest to wear?
I think that’s a very attractive jumpsuit and could be fine for most weddings.
I’d say absolutely - looks very nice and formal for a wedding. The lace inset adds an additional degree of formality. And if the person had a nice, elegant clutch, it would look even more formal.
Yes to jumpsuits for me. I’m tall with long legs and think they look good on me. I have a black sleeveless Vince Camuto which I’ve worn to a couple of weddings. It traveled well to a an out of state wedding at a vineyard with a long cobblestone walkway where flat sandals rather than heels were a necessity.
I plan on wearing a navy blue one to an April wedding around here where it could be chilly- much preferred than a dress for me in spring weather.
I have a sage green casual style one that I’ve worn with a sneakers or sandals. The bathroom thing is not a big deal to me.
I don’t think the word “Cool” is cool anymore
Oh, this thread is a great idea, I have a May wedding in Texas, I used to look good in jumpsuits, maybe I’ll try some for the wedding, fun!
@Hoggirl - Yes! That would look great at a wedding!
I would have the restroom concerns with a jumpsuit. But…. I do read about many women wearing spanx undergarments to a wedding. That too would be a pain (especially the ones with shoulder straps)… oh, do you take the dress off in the stall?
Spanx bodysuits have snap closures a la baby onesies.
A side note, I like bodysuits (not the wedgie kind!) because they look like tees without bunching out at the waist.
When I was in high school, denim overalls were a huge thing. I saved up babysitting money to buy a pair and the first day I wore them, it was a disaster. The minute the metal fasteners of the straps hit the bathroom floor, I put my gym shorts on for the rest of the day. I washed the overalls at home and put them in our donation bag. I have a germ problem and have mastered a way of keeping pant legs off the floor in public restrooms
I live in this Patagonia jumpsuit in the summer.
That’s cute. Did you have trouble finding a good bra to wear with it?
I usually wear a razorback sports bra with it, and often will wear a snug tank underneath.
Razorback sports bra. I love this typo.

I feel like you could get one basic jumpsuit - sort of like a little black dress - and dress it up or down.
Limited sizes but what a deal!

I ordered the Patagonia Fleetwith jumpsuit to try. It’s nicer than I thought, stretchy fabric but doesn’t look like it. It runs a bit large, or perhaps just a bit loosely fitted. I can wear the waist band at my waist, or put my hands in the pockets and pull it down toward my hips, I think I like that better. Anyway, comfortable and nice looking, I think I will keep it.
