So far I feel like I'm on track to go to Emerson... but I've realized that my GPA is lower than expected, and it's weighted. I'm a little scared I won't get in especially since it's my top, top, number one choice school.

I have a 3.45 weighted GPA. My school doesn't do class rank, but I think I'm in the top half.

I have an SAT score of 1770.. 600 reading, 530 math, 640 writing. I took it a second time and got a 1730, with 600 reading, 520 math, and 610 writing. So, I'm taking the ACT in October.

I'm applying Early Action to the Visual Arts department, listing my first and second choice majors as Studio TV Production and Writing for Film and Television, respectively.

I did a campus visit/tour on Friday and fell in love with all of the facilities made available, as well as Boston itself. I mean, it blew BU out of the water despite the fact that BU is typically more highly regarded.

My essay is pretty creative, which I'm hoping Emerson will appreciate. It's about how Conan O'Brien inspired me to want to work in TV. And my recommendations should be solid. One is from my English teacher who I had for a semester freshman year, the full year sophomore year, and a semester Junior year. The other is from a teacher I had for journalism sophomore year, but is also my advisor for Yearbook and Newspaper.

As for extra curriculars, I'm Editor in Chief of both the Newspaper and Yearbook, Co-President of Ski&Board Club (does that even count for anything?), and participate in an anti-drug club.

Still, what are my chances of actually getting in? I feel like the school is more competitive than I've realized.. especially the majors I've chosen.
