Are my scores good enough?

Hey guys -
Just curious as to how competitive my scores will make me (ignoring other factors) at Columbia.
ACT - 36 (35/36/36/35/9)
SAT II - 790 M2, 750 Physics (ugh)
GPA - 4.0 UW/4.67W (numeric - 98.7 UW)
Thank you!
Shawn

Your profile picture is a screenshot of your perfect ACT score. You know the answer to this question. Quit the humble brag.

In your case, it’s hard to ignore the other factors…

a) the d-bag humblebrag
b) complete cluelessness
or c) major insecurity

— any of these will be difficult to overcome.

Not kidding. If this is how your really portray yourself, your LORs will reflect this and you’re tanked. You probably think you’re the apple in your teachers’ eye. Maybe not. If you’re the grade grubbing braggart, then you’re also the source of eye-rolling during lunchroom chatter in the teachers’ lounge.

You have a perfect ACT score, what else do you want???

Well, @ShawnLooch first off, you did not receive a perfect act score. If your subscores are averaged, it turns out to be a 35.5 (which is a definite deterrent to your chances to being accepted at columbia or any other ivy league school). Secondly, your physics test score is in the 74th percentile. Clearly no ivy league is going to accept a pitiful score like that. Additionally, you scored a 9 on the essay and if i assume correctly that you ordered your act subscores that combines with a 35 english to create a 32 writing/english score which! is a significant weight to passing the ivy league admissions scale. Also, i do not think that the ivy league wants a bunch of illiterate essay writers with scores of 9 walking about their campus. But im not done, i find it interesting that this is a test only post and this combined with a host of other factors (your ignorance, douchbaggery, nolifeness) has led me to believe that you participate in 0 extra curricular activities other than the occasional walk to taco bell. With columbia’s admission process being holistic, they will not want some no lifer walking about their campus. Seriously, this has to be the dumbest post I have seen on college confidential.

This went awesomely :)) :))

They’re competitive, but you’ll need ec’s to go along with them if you want to get in

Seriously, @ShawnLooch what did you expect? As @T26E4 correctly stated above, case a,b, or c applies to your post. It’s up to you to figure out which one it is and do something about it.

He forgot option d:

CC troll

uh, tr0Il, apparently that’s censored

just forwarded this thread to Columbia. They are smart enough to figure out who you are. Busted.
