Gina, I beleive it should all be done automatically. When I spoke with them on the phone this morning, they did not take my CC info and my understanding was that everyone who was charged the $8 the last 24 hrs or so, would be credited. It sounds like more of a mess than what CollegeBoard and the SAT had last month with their website. You will need to have your mother or whoever check their credit card statement to be sure you are given the proper credit, though.

as Pooh would say..."oh bother..."

Update on CC charges: just talked to a person at 319-337-1270. She said they are deleting from their records all cc charges made between 11 pm last night and this morning. So you are only in trouble if your card was charged before 11 pm. Mine was. She said I'd either get a refund check or those records would be deleted.

She said in 6 years they've never had trouble with this system, that it is contracted to an outside company, that they don't know when it will be fixed but try again later today. And they definitely don't give scores over the phone.

Yeah i called too. they said charges would be dropped and that only if it starts working again will they charge the $8 fee. so uh yeah....but i still think itll take a while longer.

The fall of standardized testing agencies is coming!!!

But, seriously, what are the chances that this happens for the SAT and the ACT within a month of each other when it has supposedly not happened for such a long time? Are there really that many more people taking the tests that are obsessed about finding out their scores?

or maybe its the work of some standerdized test haters ;) [looks around]

Gee whiz, I used a debit card...

I used a debit card also. Will they somehow credit our accounts back?

That's it. I've decided to fly to Iowa, break into the ACT building, steal my scores, and then destroy the ACTs. I can't stand this any longer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

while you're there, grab my $80.00
Thanks!

The people that got to check their scores -- how??

Is it possible to get lucky and slip in, or do you have to wait till the problem is fixed and the site's made completely accessible?

I'm not normally a conspiracy theorist, but I've had a fleeting maybe both the college board and ACT sites have been hacked.

I got in at around 6:20 am eastern time on tuesday morning.:D woot

Newest message from ACT:(fwiw)
Thank you for visiting the ACT Early Scores by Web service. Access to view scores from the October test date is currently not available, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We are working to resolve the problem, and we will make the service available just as quickly as we can.

Official score reports for students, high schools, and colleges are NOT affected by this problem with the Early Scores service. Scores will be reported as they become available, and we will post them online as soon as the Early Scores service is functioning.

Thank you for your patience.

That should have been "a fleeting thought that"

There are no scores for you from the October 23, 2004 national administration. It takes longer for some scores to become available. Scores will be added weekly throughout processing as quickly as situations such as Standby registrations, late receipt of answer sheets, or inconsistent identifying information are resolved. Please try again in a week.
