Are ranking schools for undergraduates necessary?

Hi, so this is my first post. I was wondering if it's necessary to undergraduate from ranking universities in order to get finest jobs after graduation in the studied field. I'm soon due to join some business school, and since I don't have an overall impressive record as of now, I doubt any ranking school with 10-15% acceptance rate would accept me. So, let's say I undergraduate from a normal school and do very well throughout the academic term and then apply for a ranking school for graduation. Would that then effect me in the job market negatively, since I'd have undergraduated from a normal schools, and not a ranking school. Or is it only the graduation that'd count, especially when it's from a ranking school with an impressive overall record?

Thanks.

Who is to judge? USNWR does it because there is a paying audience for the rankings. Do people just look at them and lazily make determinations? Sure. But savvy human resource departments look beyond just a school name, mostly. Individual stars from lesser known colleges still will turn heads.

Sure, they will. But I don’t wanna miss the edge ranking school candidates have over lesser known school candidates while applying for job. Besides, I’m least interested in Non-ranking schools anyway. I’m just wondering if I’d lose that edge, if I undergraduate from a Non-ranking school, which is the most likely scenario given my current record. Or only the graduation from a Ranking school will matter? To me later makes more sense than former.
