Ok a good smartphone like the iPhone 4, Droid X, Galaxy S, or Evo 4G costs $200 and a monthly data plan. Is the functionality of mobile internet worth it in 2010? What would a HS student do with all that functionality? Many of my friends have iPhones and Droids and I'm considering getting one.

A couple more questions:
-how much does a typical data plan cost? $50/month?
-how fast are internet speeds?
-is internet usually reliable? Are dead zones frequent?
-any other important things I should know?

Or should I just get a normal texting phone? =D

Oh I was saying…unlimited INTERNET, not text. My bad xD

For me…I think my family pay about $30 for both unlimited Internet and unlimited text. That’s only for my smartphone though. (Unlimited text for the rest of my family…is cheap xD)

i don’t really text that much, probably not that much more than a couple hundred per month. I’ve always thought that plans were like $70 a month, how do you find deals like $30? is there a catch?

I had an iphone and the bill was like $100 which is redic for adults and HS students alike… My mom wanted it so now I have this really shetty flip phone that I actually know how to use lol

Anyone know the cheapest plan for Verizon?
I’m planning to upgrade my phone since the two-year contract is finally over.
I’m thinking about getting the Blackberry curve 8350 because I could get it for free.
However, the cost is $29.99 for the data usage plan + $15 for text messages, 1500 a month? I believe. . .?
Please PM me if you know any good plans for Verizon or any other companies with a decent plan + phone.
