Hi everyone.
I have had friends in the past who recently have graduated and haven’t gotten anywhere. They feel discouraged and it makes me sad. Everyone says, “get that degree” but I see many College graduates still end up unemployed and end up working back at the jobs they previously left (whether it’s retail, fast food, etc).
Everyone says “get that degree”, but how is it sometimes worth it when many can’t get their foot through the first door?
Most of them will not remain at these jobs forever unless there are extenuating circumstances.
Statistically, people with degrees are less likely to be unemployed and have higher lifetime earnings. You can improve your chances of getting a job by getting good grades and seeking out internships. Plan for graduate school if it’s common or necessary in your field. Alternatively, look into skilled trades if those interest you more than going to a four-year college.
