Are there alot of Koreans at UVA?

I heard UVA is totally a school of white kids.
Are there any Asians or KOreans there?

UVa is 11% Asian. I could be wrong, but I think Koreans are the largest group of Asians at UVa.

Hmm, I might think Chinese is the largest group? I'm not sure, but regardless, there are a lot of Koreans, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Chinese. The other Asian groups are represented as well.

Melli is a great source for anything Asian!

The Asian population in general definitely has a significant presence, and within that distinction, Koreans certainly have their fair share. (from an outsider's perspective)

It's great how many different groups of Asian students are now represented at UVa with their own student organizations. Cool to know, db123.

I'm half chinese & half white. Of course, I look mad asian. I don't read, write, or even speak any asian language. Can I still join an asian frat/club?

As someone who visits Virginia colleges often, I have seen 10 times more asian folks at UVA than any other college/university I have been to. I know it literally isn't 10 times more, but there are a lot. I wouldn't worry about not having some people you can relate to, from your own country.

One of the things that draws me to UVa is the diversity in the student body. I want to meet people from all over the world! The experience must be amazing - so definitely take note of that.

ercmillia -- I would say that's probably true only when comparing UVA to other VA/regional schools. There are many schools with a significantly larger Asian pop (California of course).

Jask925, you don't have to be Asian to join an Asian club. When I graduated, the Treasurer of the Asian Student Union was a Jewish girl from NYC.

yes Jask, I know of several who have (talking about frat/sorority). As far as Clubs, even more so. In these clubs and organizations you will find many people who don't share a background with the focus of the club but are there to celebrate and appreciate it nonetheless (like me, for example).

needless to say, there seems to be a ton of Asians here--I'd wager more from Asia than from the US.
