Just wondering?

It seems like many things are being cut back and unfortunately this is one.

I’m sorry to inform you that all finance jobs have disappeared.

It is a known fact. Ever since the housing bubble, subprime mortgage crisis, and governmental regulation of banks, finance jobs have been completely wiped out.

They are in the process of removing finance as a major at most business schools as we speak.

There are no finance jobs. Not a SINGLE one.

In fact, I heard that they are closing down all the banks. Time to stash money under the bed.

That sucks. I know they’re still hiring fluffers so you can always do that…

sarcasm? …

Is this a serious question? Just because wall street isn’t doing so hot doesn’t mean that there’s nothing else in finance. Do you think people have stopped needing loans (commercial banking); companies have stopped budgeting their capital (corporate finance outside of the i-banks), HNWIs don’t need help managing their assets (portfolio management/financial planning)? The answer to all of those is no, and that just touches the SURFACE of other finance jobs.

When did the “business major” forum change its name to “public accounting, investment banking and consulting” forum and why wasn’t I informed of this event?

lol You guys are funny lol

creamgethamoney, you are wrong for two reasons.
A) people did stop needing all of that stuff and that’s why finance is dead. Didn’t you read posts 2-7?
B) This forum would be dead if it wasn’t secretly the ibanking/consulting/big4 forum. Is anything else worth talking about so extensively? No. You should know better.

wait. whattt?
I’m going to be a college freshman next year and i’m planning on majoring in finance.
Are you saying that I, including other finance major students, won’t find a steady job after graduating and going on to grad school?
I want to have a $100,000+ salary eventually…

mvlc2010, you might want to call the business school and ask them if they are still going to have a finance program there. It doesn’t seem likely though.

And another thing mvlc2010, if you believed anything in this thread, then you should think about not going to college at all.

ok, well obviously i know that not all finance jobs are gone. but i just want to know if its going to be a useless major like psychology- for those that dont know what they want to do in life.

Lol wow.

College is not for you.

^mvlc and OP --you need to print what you just wrote and stick it in a file. Reread it in 10-15 years and have a good laugh.
