Are there any good online resources for SAT Subject Tests?

I’m studying for the SAT Subject Tests in January, and I’m taking Biology (probably Bio M) and Math II, and I can’t get my hands on a book right away. What are some really good online resources for studying these two subjects?

Not sure about bio because I never took it but sparknotes is very good for Math II. According to many people, sparknotes practice tests are the closest to the actual tests. However I would still suggest that you get your hands on practice books. I personally recommend Barron’s, which is harder than the actual thing but it preps you well.

@SylvRsr Thanks! I was wondering about sparknotes for Math II, since I have it bookmarked, but I wasn’t sure if it was good or not. I keep hearing good things about the Barron’s book, but I haven’t gotten the chance to get my hands on it just yet.

Also, where are the sparknotes practice tests? I see the section that says “practice tests are your best friends,” but I can only find review questions at the end of each chapter (or are those questions what people mean by practice tests?).

Welcome! I’ve skimmed through the sparknotes strategy. I thought they were meh. If you’re a good test taker in general you don’t have to read that part. Their breakdown of the # of questions for each concept is very good; it can be found under “Content and Format of the SAT II Math IIC”
Please buy the Barron’s book! You’ll get your money’s worth! I’ve always been good at math and didn’t want to waste money on math prep books, but I really thought Barron’s was a great book.
I actually never took any sparknotes practice tests and don’t know where to find them… I think if you look to the right of the website, there’s a section called “More Sparknotes Resources” under that you see “Test prep center” and I think they have the tests there. When I click on it, it says it’s down for maintenance so I’m not sure if it has the practice tests or not.
I’m pretty sure there are actual practice tests though, not just review questions. When I couldn’t find the sparknotes tests I bought the College Board Official SAT Subject Tests in Math 1 and 2. It has two tests, which are very very similar to the actual test for obvious reasons. But I thought it was a huge rip off. It was $19 for only two tests while Barron’s was $17 and has 7 tests and coverage of math concepts.
So if you can find sparknotes tests, take them; they’re free and similar to the actual thing. If not, I recommend getting the CB book

@SylvRsr thanks again, this is a huge help!

@STEMinist16 Welcome!

For Math 2, Use PR. It’s the most similar to the real test.

Barrons is too hard, and Kaplan is too easy.

but a 650 on barrons translates to a 800, supposedly. Nuh uh.

The questions on the test arent too bad. I used McGraw Hill, and got 800 consistently, as I did on the test.

But looking back, PR was better and more realistic

One note on @ikim16’s comment.

I forgot to take into consideration the fact that people aim for different scores on math II and blindly suggested Barrons sorry. I aimed for an 800 when I was prepping and bought Barrons. If you’re aiming for like a 700 or something PR could be sufficient though I still recommend Barrons

@ikim16 I don’t think Barrons is THAT much harder. I was getting 750+ on Barrons and got an 800 on the actual thing. I think the translation is more like 700+ = 780-800 on the real test

The only thing I don’t like about Barrons is that its practice tests contain questions that are structured differently from those on the real test

But definitely, Kaplan is too easy. I borrowed it from a friend and it didn’t help at all
