Are there any L&S Computer Science Majors that get a minor in EE?

I was looking at the requirements, and it seems that all you really have to take that isnt already implemented in the L&S CS curriculum is EE 20N.

Am I missing something here?

Link: EECS Minor Program | EECS at UC Berkeley

the EECS minor program says you can’t overlap the upper-div CS and EECS electives. so, you would have to do separate electives for each.

never mind… I didn’t see the exception.

There’s always an exception.

Well, at least you caught the exception before it was too late.

Har har har. But really, why minor in EECS if all you’re going to do is try and overlap the upper div CS courses? Presumably you’re minoring in EECS because you want to learn some EE as well.

Seems like adding an EECS minor to an L&S CS major would entail:

Replacing EE 42 with EE 40 and its physics prerequisites.

Adding EE 20N.

Adding two or three additional EE or CS courses.

^ Doing that is almost the equivalent of doing an EECS degree…without actually getting an EECS degree.

Indeed, you can construct a program of study that would fulfill the requirements of either L&S CS or EECS major.

Of course, someone who entered Berkeley as L&S Undeclared may find it easier to declare L&S CS than to try to change into EECS as his/her official major.
