Are these decent ECs? PLEASE HELP!

HI! I am starting early on my stupid Common App, so hopefully I will thank myself in the Fall. I am filling out the activities section... can you guys please rate my ECs and tell me whether or not to remove some of them or something? I also don't know if the descriptions are appropriate for the "Positions held, honors one, etc" thing. I've filled up all 10 spots... I also did Cross Country 9th & 10th grade, should I remove one of these and exchange them?

TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK PLEASE

Help pleaseee

It sounds like a solid list. I would definitely leave off the 9/10 cross country.

I like that most of your activities include specific accomplishments, “Orange Square Apps has developed many iPhone and iPad apps for the International Apple App Store such as Save Orange and Amazing Card Trick”. This makes the list much more impressive. Continuing this thought however, your activities #4 - Student Representative and #7/8 - Mentoring sound much more ambiguous.

Should the Student Representative be listed under Awards, or did you actually do something in this position?

Thanks so much for responding rmldad!

I agree with the Cross Country. As for #4, Student Rep, I am one of two staff-selected students to represent the school in monthly meetings. We discuss funding for certain projects and the alteration of school rules, and I supply the student perspective. Should I rephrase my description above to be more specific? I actually attend meetings and do stuff, so its not an award

And for 7/8, I will try to change my descriptions to be less vague… they do sound somewhat unclear

Since we are talking about awards, could you look at them too?

AWARDS/HONORS

 1. (9) Junior Presidential Youth Inaugural Conference Video Contest Winner; met Colin Powell because of award (National)
 2. (9-11) Regional Media Fair Awards: 1st Place Video Production (9), 2nd Place Desktop Publishing (10), 1st Place Video Production (11) (Regional/State)
 3. (12) National Merit Commended Award (National)
 4. (9-12) 4.0 Honor Roll (School)
 5. (9-10) Junior Varsity Cross Country District Champions (Regional/State)

I’m not sure about #5 on awards… I couldn’t think of anything else, we have senior awards at the end of the year :(

THANKS SO MUCH again

And also, do you think #1 on my EC list is good? I am relatively new to it and can’t post big sales numbers or anything, but I think it is unique and shows initiative? And I’ve linked it with my school newspaper so I think it ties… Let me know

Hello… someone help

Bumppppppppp
