<p>I volunteer at a hospital and library because I ENJOY it I don't care for community service hours that much honestly. I do it because I enjoy working at a hospital and might consider it for a possible major in college. Anyone can get an award. But when your doing something you love you don't really need an award or recognition just self satisfaction.</p>

<p>Ah... I see, you're very lucky that it relates to your 'possible major'. And typically a recognizable award comes around, too, only when you you enjoy something and are willing to put in so much work. Recognizable awards include; getting research/work published or winning intel...not anyone can do that...especially without interest, lol....(i didn't mean school chemistry awards or scholarships by what I had said before)</p>

Did any of the schools I applied to care that my dad's the CEO of a publicly traded company? Nope. If you happened to be Bill Gates' son, then yes, it would be extremely helpful. Stop giving yourself so much credit for nothing.</p>

<p>loslobos71 i am new to the forms and i understand now what are hooks and ec's. Thank you for clearing that up. I was not trying to give myself Any credit I do not think I am higher than anyone else. This is the first time I am looking into colleges and I really wanted to make myself look unique i was not trying to give myself some title that I don't have. </p>
