My friend wanted to apply to Columbia(he also wanted to apply to Harvard and UPenn), but he is a horrible test taker and scored 1150 sat, he doesn’t want to apply to Columbia anymore, I told him he should apply because you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take but he thinks that this is the end of his ivy league dreams. Should he still apply? and if he does are his chances really like 0.000001%.
Tell your friend not to apply those schools. It’s a wasted app. Sorry.
Agree, even in holistic admissions academics (to include GPA, course rigor, standardized tests) are the most important part of an application. The SATs are not competitive for those schools. I’d suggest that you apply to schools that are in your academic range. If you have a strong GPA and good course rigor but poor standardized test scores, perhaps look at test optional colleges.
And your friend should open up his/her own CC account and ask.
