are they serious?

thekristin1129 what high school is that?
I truly ENVY you.

How nice.

I seriously want to transfer to your school..

My school is $60, but we get refunded if we pass.

We also don't need to take finals if we took an AP test, or if we got an A in any other class for the year.

but that is SOOO BS! What if u make an A in an elective or say Algebra I Regular....and u won't have to take finals for AP Bio or APUSH? o_O?

no, i.e. take CP English and get an A, I don't need to take the CP English final.

$0 at our Fl. school, as long as you have a C or better in class. Anything under that you pay full freight. My d will be taking 4 this spring.

zebes

It's crazy that some people have finals AND ap exams. In my school the AP exam takes the place of your final but doesn't go towards your grade. And no school after the exams are finished so I only have two classes after early/mid-May.
I wish my school paid for the exams and I wish that we could skip midterms/finals for classes we had As in.
In my dreams....

oh, okay, SMN..that makes better sense! I wish I could skip my school (one of the hardest in the US for sure)

Same here about the AP exam & finals. If you take an AP exam for a class then that's it for the year. You don't really do anything for the remaining 3 weeks, so at the end of this year I will only have one class. haha what a waste! Most teachers also give you an automatic A for the last quarter so that you will focus all of your energy into getting prepared for real and not have to worry about what it does to your grade.

Our school charged $85 per test last year, and will probably raise it this year too.

Geez, I wish my school offered more AP's. They only offer a few, and then more advanced classes through the state schools, but those won't transfer and only might get me advanced standing.

dang we have to take finals and ap exams

Mine is $84 and I go to private school.

free for me....saved 400 bucks

Holy Jesus we just received the pricing for this years AP testing. $95!!!

95 * 6 AP tests = $570

!@&$

I wonder how your school is justifying tacking on the extra $11.00.

From the College Board Site:

Exam Fees and Reductions: 2008
The fee for each AP Exam is $84. The school normally retains $8 of that fee as a rebate to help with administrative costs.

Note: If you are testing at a school that is not your own, the Coordinator may ask you to pay a different fee to recover the additional proctoring and administration costs.

You might want to ask a counselor howcome the surcharge, considering you're taking the tests at your home school.

is there anything like if you are taking more than a certain amount of tests to make the fee go down or smt??
