I got a 38. I'm not much of a people person, but people I know say they like me. Of course, I can't read between the lines. I think the key in diagnosing a disorder is whether it interferes with your life in a significant way such that it bothers you or people who truly care about you. I function just fine. So many "disorders" are just characteristics of people who simply don't confirm to some theoretical, overrated norm.

I'm trying to assess the validity of this test

If you have friends and you're happy you shouldn't give a crap what some silly test says about you. Even if you really could be diagnosed with Asperger's...do you really want a diagnosis attached to you? Do you really want to think of yourself as somehow defective, malformed, inadequate? If it's not causing problems in your everyday life, you shouldn't worry about it. It's not a problem, it's just a quirk.

i scored nineteen

20 .

I got a 30.

But I understand why.

45... :/

Makes sense since I've been diagnosed with AS, I guess. The only one with a higher score thus far is IK. That's definitely not surprising.

I actually AM autistic. [Well, I have 2 diagnoses: High-Functioning Autism and Asperger's Syndrome, by different psychologists with about a decade between the diagnoses.]

Score: 43.

Neurology is one of those things, and I know a lot about autism. Please note that while Baron-Cohen is not the only person at his level in the field, he is usually [defendably] regarded as the best in the world.

Asperger's can be a silly nickname for spectrally advanced anti-social behavior (my cousin has "Asperger's," and I had no idea until I was told; he repeats movie phrases, but not egregiously). Its diagnosis as "autism" is ill-founded unless it's particularly severe.

That said, I got a 28. But it's easy to throw this test if you can tell which questions will produce a higher score.

15...weird.

I got a 13. I'm actually rather socially adept, but I admittedly ramble on a lot and get sort of obsessed with various interests (like college!).

It seems like asking people to self-assess would throw the numbers a bit.

...14 for me. Definitely 14, yeah....gotta watch wapner.

Surprising isn't it?

Doesn't that mean that you're low-functioning autistic?
