Are you familiar with this college?

Did I compare it to Wharton? No, I actually compared it to Bentley and Babson, two schools that would also be unknown to a midwesterner or that SoCal employer. No one knows it outside of business? It’s a business school. Who else needs to know about it.

Why do Albright, Antioch, Albion, Assumption, Atlantic (and that’s just the A’s) and many other obscure schools have CC pages? Tiny schools few have ever heard of. Literally no posts in years. But Bryant has no page?

@ChicagoSportsFn All accounting recruiting is regional. I repeat, all accounting recruiting is regional.

If you asked any person in HR responsible for recruiting at the big firms and the regional east coast firms about Bryant they would refer to it as an A-list Accounting school.

Someone from USC or anywhere else in SoCal will work in the regional office. Someone from Bryant will work in Boston or Hartford most likely.

Who cares if no one outside of business knows. Does your landscaper hire accountants?

Accounting recruiting is sort of like engineering.

@Chardo You’re talking that it should have a page in CC and you’re absolutely floored that it doesn’t. My point is that there’s a reason why it doesn’t have a page. It’s not a Wharton, Kellogg, Haas, Booth, Sloan, etc…

Kids who WANT to go into business should know about it so they can look into it…that’s who else needs to know about it

Seems like you have to be IN business to know about Bryant.

You’re probably not in medicine but I’m sure you know about Harvard Med, Hopkins Med, etc.

If you want Bryant to get the level of respect and recognition that it needs but doesn’t get, then you want people outside of business and the NE to know about it.

I am with you though that you do have to scratch your head sometimes on how smaller, more obscure schools get a page.

Hopefully, Bryant will get one because it does deserve the attention. It is a good school.

FWIW, I know the school because one of my son’s lacrosse coaches played there, and the lacrosse squad played Maryland in the NCAAs a few years back. So if you follow college lacrosse, you’ve heard of Bryant.

Bryant finished last season ranked #28. Good showing for a small school.

I don’t know much about lacrosse, but I do know Bryant has been to the NCAA tournament the last 3 years, including an upset of Syracuse. Their coach is the former longtime coach of Duke, fired during their bogus rape scandal.

Outside of a specific circles, college/uni name recognition is all about big time sports on tv… has little to do with academics.

I have never visited the campus even though it is only 40 minutes away which doesn’t seem like far away but in terms of RI it is pretty far for me  . I don’t think Bryant is for me because I want a school with a bigger national reputation because I don’t plan on staying in New England for the rest of my life.

Fair enough. Just so you know, of that alumni list I posted before, half of them are outside New England. You should at least look into the school before assuming it’s not for you.

@rhodeisland In Accounting it does. Just remember who hires, not your friends, not your friend’s parents, not your dentist and not the person who cuts your hair.
