student loan with cosigner(parents), so I guess I will have to pay it back once I graduate.

Parents. Given that tuition is $51k plus incidentals (and we don't qualify for financial aid for various reasons), I'd be in a lot of debt if I had to pay that myself.

My university and the state of Maryland--yay scholarships. All my parents pay is my cell phone bill and car insurance.

Well, I got a ton of grant money and some scholarships, but my dad is making up the rest, which will be about $8,000 this year.

I got a half off scholarship and the rest in loans. Parents pay nothing but a little ramen and canned soup, and they still act like they own me.

It's a mix of scholarships (college), student loans (me), and college savings (parents)-we've all contributed something.

My parents didn't start a college fund for me. They forgot...and my dad wanted a new truck. And they've hinted they thought I would never get into any school. They thought when I grew up I'd think college "wasn't my thing."

Let's see...A full university scholarship, college savings from parents, and summer employment keep me going.

Me, me, and... oh... me. Worst thing is I can get zero scholarships (that I know of) even with my stellar grades, just because I had a medical condition that made me leave school entirely too early (2001 when my class graduated in '05). Even after my GED in '03 I couldn't find anything in the way of scholarships when I was in the highest percentiles on that. My parents also make too much money for grants, so I'm stuck with paying my full schooling - though there are loans in my parents names and separate ones in mine, I am the one to pay them all. Oh joy of all joys! Life starts and ends with debt I suppose! (not that I mind too much, school will be worth it in the end)

I will be paying for almost all of mine, unless I get a full ride through the Evans Scholarship - which is for caddies (probably the best job solely because of this scholarship)

I have scholarships which pay for the great majority of it (tuition, housing), and a pell grant on top of that (so I get a refund from this which pays for my everyday expenses like food and such). I also have a work-study job which pays for extra stuff like if I want new shoes or something. I only have one loan for $5500 (stafford) which I took out to do a summer study abroad program. But as that is my only loan, I feel like I am pretty lucky, esp. since I have a full ride for everything else, and I wouldn't trade my summer in France for anything!

My mom is not really able to contribute much because she is living off of disability and retirement checks right now and living with my grandmother rent-free. The most significant thing is that she pays my car payment for me (hers is paid off), although she has said that when I graduate in May 2009 I will have to start paying it instead. I pay insurance and upkeep already. It's between half-2/3 paid off now, so that is a big help for me, and it is a pretty nice 2003-model car so it is much appreciated. She will also sometimes buy me a meal if she is in town (she lives only 1 hour away from my college) and she does my laundry for me when I am home (going home this weekend... yay free laundry).

Paying for it myself and what a pain it is.

Trust me, it's a HUGE pain to pay for everything yourself. It's really annoying to see how everyone else can essentially rest and relax on parental funding while everyone else is pretty much playing catchup.

Getting paid to go to school.
