Just curious.....for me I am paying for it with student loans.... went to county for a year and a half and am now in the process of getting loans :/

Paying for it myself.

Parents are.

I'm paying for college myself.

Government is paying for it :o

--at least, as far as tuition goes.

My dad will probably drop $1000 for my room and board (out of $1600/year for the dorm and $3500/year for meal plan), though, and says he'll gladly help with some everyday expenses.

Neither, the government is because I have an EFC of zero (which is about right).

Me. The government helped a little, but not nearly enough to make up for parents who "should" be contributing, according to FAFSA, but who aren't. Bottom line, I'll be paying off student loans forever...

I agree I think its very wrong to assume that if your parents make X amount of money they will automatically put a certain amount to your education.... I cant get anything from the govertment so have to take out a ton of private student loans which Ill be paying off for a long time :/

A combination of me and future me. Although this year I ended up with a full ride+ when you factor in scholarships.

My parents can't contribute anything, but I have about 40K in a college fund thanks to my grandpa. Right now, though, the government is covering the low tuition at my local state uni and I'm living with my parents for free (which is definitely a trade-off). All my spending money comes from my part-time job.

The state government's paying my tuition, and will continue to do so as long as I keep a 3.0 (which I'm not anticipating worrying about). My parents are paying room and board, though.

scholarships are paying for mine...my parents would NEVER let me take out loans to go to a college and thanks goodness i have scholarships that are paying for everything because otherwise i wouldn't be at any school.

I get free tuition and a little bit in scholarships, but parents pay for the rest (housing and dining being the majority). >_> I did have to pay for furnishing the room and I take care of other outside expenses.

I'll be paying for my own school.

My parents are. But if they weren't, I would NOT be attending my school and would probably be taking tons of loans out since my parents salary would make it nearly impossible to get anything from the government:(

Where are you going to school that you can live there for about $130 a month in rent?

My parents and I split my college costs pretty much down the middle, with them being willing to chip in and cover my bus rides over breaks to home for the first two years (later, once I started having well-paying summer jobs I paid for more and more of my incidentals).

The middle of nowhere, believe me!!!

My bad on the dorm rate--that's per semester, but the meal plan is per year. And that's not including the summer. It works out to about $350/month. A 1bed apartment in goes for about $400 in the area, usually with heat/water included (to give you an idea).

Both. I have scholarships and the maximum stafford loan. I pay for books and other expenses and I chip in whatever else I can towards tuition (I have a part-time job on campus and two at home). But in the end my parents pay for most of it... which I feel bad about...

The sponsors of my scholarship program pay (paid?) for my education. I'm very thankful.

I'm paying for my parents.

Wrong parallelism in the thread title, no?
