Argh! Unfairness in my life!

This may sound like an extremely stupid question, but *** am I still an International Student? Currently, I'm a H-4 status in the United States, which is "resident alien" but not "permanent resident." I'm been here ever since the age of 8 (I'm 16 now), I've attended American elementaries and an American middle school and American high schools. I'm valecditorian, I'm an overachiever, I have perfect grades... :P But now I find that I won't qualify for National Merit Scholarships, I won't qualify for 99% of scholarships anyway, I won't even be considered as much for admissions!

Is this true? Am I being stupid? Are there people who are in the same boat as I am? What should I do?

With those stats, there may be great schools who will offer merit money regardless of your citizenship status. NMF status is not a magic bullet that qualifies you for lots of money. Try private schools where you are above the average admitted stats… they may be happy to have you! Good luck.
