Art of Problem Solving for SAT Math

I had read a post on CC awhile back recommending the Art of Problem Solving for improvement in SAT Math ("guaranteed 800" was the phrase I believed they used).

After receiving a 680 on the SAT in math I am def interested in improving. Would reading The Art of Problem Solving Volume 1 be worthwhile? Would it be a "guaranteed 800" or at least a +750? Or would it be better just to stick with Gruber's and BB?

if u find urself struggling with problem solving then go ahead

SAT is mostly reasoning

aops IS WAYYYY too overkill for sat. the aops volumes gives problems that I cant even fathom of solving and im actually pretty good at math.

aops is more for AMC/AIME, which is like 100000000000x the math ull find on sat

i know but if the person has a problem with how to go about solving a particular question
i’d say, go ahead. challenge urself and take both SAT and AMC/AIME down!

The SAT math is really basic.
What type of questions are you missing?
Are you making “silly/dumb” mistakes or missing the hard ones?

I’d only seek additional help if you’re consistently missing the harder questions. If you’re making dumb mistakes then I recommend practice, practice, and you guessed it practice!
