Art portfolio for Choate

I am in the process of applying to Choate and I would like to submit an art portfolio as part of my application but (as far as I know) there isn’t a designated space to submit supplementary materials. If you are a past applicant who submitted a portfolio how did you do it?

I’m also submitting an art portfolio too, and i suggest using a website called Carbonmade. It;s basically a free, online art portfolio, and you can send your AOs the link
Best of luck!

@LilyPatrick Thank you so much! But what AO do I send it to? My interview is scheduled after the application deadline so I haven’t met anyone yet…

You don’t send it to an AO @LilyPatrick and @jjbb123 . GoChoate states that you send -insert Choate’s art email- a link to the website you uploaded your work to. Log into GoChoate and you should find at the bottom of the screen a text that tells you how to send art materials to Choate. I think the way that appears on your account is through submitting information about it in your inquiry, which can be edited by clicking the “edit profile” button at the top of your screen, right below the Choate header. Of course, I’m not an expert, but I’m also an artist and that’s what I’m told to do. You should email Choate if you have trouble with it.

You can mention it in your interview and then (esp if you have had a skype interview) send them the link via email; your interviewer adds it to you application…

@atria how important is the interviewer? If it was an Alumni interview over skype, would it change your chances if it were with an AO?

@LilyPatrick I’ve read many stories about BS applicants who did their interviews in person and got rejected from most of them, but an applicant did all of their’s through skype and got into all of them. Of course, there are SSATs, Ec’s and more to be considered, but many people believe that it doesn’t really matter. Both the Alums and AO’s are trained for interviews so I wouldn’t worry too much.

Also…I’m think the AO’s give Skype interviews.

Ah, that’s good to know then. thanks!
