Hi, I'm interested in applying for FMM & PS for Fall 2014. I am wondering what kind of teacher recommendations I would need for these programs. I know math is a DEFINITE... however, would a recommendation from my art teacher be the way to go, since FMM is those skills combined, even if its a business major? I'm torn but I need to ask for recommendations soon... thank you!

Most definitely a recommendation from an art teacher will boost your chances. Also, if you have a college counselor you should ask them as well.

A recommendation isn’t required when applying to FIT.

Thank you so much, that’s great to know. Will hear from my counselor tomorrow… thanks!
@DeeYoo- is this including the President Scholars program? I know they did stress the SAT unlike other programs so I was assuming they did look for recs.

Yes for Pres Scholars you do actually do need two letters of recs. You’ll probably get one from your counselor (In my school one had to be from your counselor). But a rec from an art teacher can look good when applying to any major really. Sure it has more relevance to students applying to the Art and Design school, but it’s shows that you excel in a range of subjects and essentially displays your versatility.
Sorry for any previous confusion.

Is fine! I do believe one is from my counselor, but I think I need two others from teachers. I really did fall in love with FIT and Im looking forward to applying. Thanks so much for your help!
