princton says that they want students who are great academically but who also some muscial or artistic backround. im wondering if my one year in the frosh band covers it. (i played various instruments since 4th grade, but i was terrible at all of them, and i finally quit after 9th grade)

What they want is a well-rounded student body. They don't expect every student to be artistic or musical, but they will select certain students because they have exceptional talent in addition to other strengths. Obviously, music is not going to be your "hook," but if you have some other kind of talent, this should not be held against you.

thats not quite what i mean. just like they have reccomendations saying you should take 4 years of english, 4 years of science etc. i think princton says you should have one year of art/music etc. but now that i check their site, i cant find where it says that. just interesting, they say that the act stands for american college testing, when the act doesnt stand for anything. (at least i think) just kinda interesting.

What you probably are referring to is pg. 46 of the view book.
