Art schools in UK

I am a high school junior and I’m interested in majoring in art- it’s been a longtime passion and my dream job. I am going to apply to as many art schools as i can here in the US, but I was also thinking about expanding my college choices to the UK? I’m thinking about Royal College of Art, University of the Arts London, or University for the Creative Arts.

What are my chances? How do i apply and are my academic scores too low? What do I need to do and how do I prepare? I have a gpa of 2.8 (currently taking APs and honors classes as well as retaking a failed class to boost gpa) and a SAT score of 1800-2100 (haven’t taken the real one yet just practice tests). I know that my academic scores aren’t impressive but I’m just wondering if I have a chance at international schools? I have a solid portfolio and I want to major in either advertising or visual studies.
Thanks for any feedback or advice!

Wow! we’ve got the same interest  Hmm, although they say my 3.21 GPA is quite low I’d still like to pursue the thought. I still believe we’ve got a chance on this  join in your discussion http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/visual-arts-film-majors/1824676-top-internationally-accredited-art-schools-in-europe-and-asia.html#latest

If you’re planning on studying fine art your academic scores are not important at all, because you won’t be studying anything academic. Your portfolio is what matters as it shows your artistic ability. However, I suspect advertising would want some additional skill sets so you’ll need to have something to offer. Are you taking the AP exams? What scores do you expect in each subject? Those will be more helpful than school grades which are subjective.

I think the Royal College of Art only offers graduate courses.

UCA is really a conglomeration of several older art colleges, and I don’t see an advertising course. UAL is also a combination of several colleges, but there is an advertising degree at the London College of Communication (one of its constituent parts). You might be able to do a foundation course first to prepare you if you can’t get in immediately.

The School of Communication Arts is advertising focussed, but not a full degree: https://schoolcommunicationarts.com/

Good luck!
