<p>This article has proven to be helpful for me personally, as my son was just accepted to Michigan. Mich was his top choice not because of reputation, etc. but because it was truly a perfect fit for him and he loved the people, the program, the campus…it just felt right. He had many, many schools on his list, and I am certain he’d have gotten solid training at any one of them. I am not a fan of the “how many graduates on Bway?” stats, and agree with many of the contrasting points made here by connections and others.
BUT
One of the first things he said to me after receiving his acceptance was that he saved this article, figuring we might need it to convince his dad that paying out of state tuition is worth it, when he has wonderful scholarships to other programs. I sent the link to him back when this thread was hot - have to give him kudos for thinking ahead. ;-)</p>
