I never limited the discussion to ivy league schools, I said schools such as gtown, notre dame, etc. Almost all of the colleges are top 30 schools or very highly ranked engineering schools. However, the list does provide some good insight for alumni bases and does surprise me a little. Thank you for the list.
I wonder if you were a Pennsylvania resident and got into both UPenn and Penn state, what university will you pick. If you were an engineer major.
@NASA2014
I fit none of that description but imo Penn State would be cheaper and the engineering school is basically on par with that of UPenn’s, so the choice is pretty clear there. However, I do stick to my original assertion that if you were not 100% sure you wanted to be an engineer then you should consider UPenn as it has a great CAS school and if you are lucky enough to be able to transfer into Wharton, that would provide amazing opportunities in the finance world.
You don’t have to mention you want to be a doctor. You can’t help about being Asian.
@DrGoogle
I feel somewhat compelled that I should say I want to be a doctor because two of my main ECs comprise of biomedical research, one with a physician. Also, I volunteered at a hospital. It seems almost necessary to me, but I am not completely sure.
What’s your major? I’m lost
Sorry if I have confused you, this thread has gone a little off track at points because of me. I plan on majoring in political science, economics, biology, or chemistry while pursuing a pre med track. This article initially made me want to hide my affinity for biology/medicine, but this thread has convinced me otherwise. However, I did benefit from this thought experiment because I realized how much I would enjoy majoring in political science. So as of right now I think I will major in political science while pursuing pre med and consider the other said majors in case I change my mind in college.
awesome mate, I’m majoring in math and meteorology! I was a geology major in my community college but had to change it because it required biology, and it’s my biggest weakness. I’m a math major now, hopefully I will be applying to colleges this coming fall!
guessing by your username and your picture, math and meteorology seem like a great fit. I hope we both have good luck in the coming admission cycle.
You as well mate,Yea it was kinda of hard to choose from. I had to choose one astronomy or meteorology
