I am going to be a second semester sophomore in the Spring 2012 semester, but I need to solidify my major. I am currently a music major with an emphasis in theory/composition. However, I am also very interested in arts administration as a future job. My school does offer a music major with an emphasis in arts administration. I am having a very hard time deciding what area of music I really want to major in.
My options are (1) theory/comp (2) arts administration (3) both theory/comp and arts administration. The thing about doing both is it would add an extra semester, but I am not ruling that idea out completely.

My dream is to be a professionally played composer, but I love the geeky stuff like programs, music libraries, and such things that make a performance come together. Do I need a degree in arts administration to work in the field, or would theory/comp be better to stick with? I'm really stuck. I just want to end up working somewhere in the music field, but I don't know what employers in the music field (non-performance) look for the most.
