As a high school Junior, am I on the right track?

I’m a white, female who goes to a performing arts high school where I major in Musical Theatre. My school requires a lot of commitment and I have just as many art classes as I do academic classes in a day. I am a bit worried after seeing other people’s “Chance Me”, because I do not go to a school that allows me to do any clubs or much after school activities. There are only 2 clubs at my school (FCA and Chess) and I am no apart of either and the only activity I am planning on taking on after school would be an internship or job of some sort. I have to stay after school until 8:30 pm at least 3 times a week. Also I went to a different high school my freshman year.

Class Rank: 3 out of 50

GPA: 4.00 UW

SAT: 1450. I took this in June of my sophomore year, and am planning on taking it multiple more times. That was the first time I have taken it, and I’m planning to score at least a 1900 by the end of this year.

CLASSES:
Freshman year: all honors.
Sophomore year: all honors. (My school does not allow us to start taking AP until Junior year)
Junior year: AP Language and AP Biology, all other honors.
Senior year: I’m planning on taking AP Calc and AP Literature.
In addition to these academic classes, my arts classes include dance, musical theatre technique, acting, concert choir, musical theatre ensemble and technical theatre.

How am I doing?

I assume based on the involvement with theater you’re applying to CFA? If so, your transcript looks pretty solid; the big thing BU cares about is whether you have an interest, and how well you show your interest. In this case, with the involvement in theater beyond what your school offers (i.e. National Thespian, All-State Choir), it definitely shows you love musical theater. The one thing you should probably work on is that SAT; you should really be shooting for at least an 1850, if not better. Actually, have you tried the ACT? Some people tend to do better on one versus the other (case in point: I scored a 1400 on a practice SAT versus a 34 out of 36 on the ACT).

(Also, as a techie/LD myself, good choice on the tech theater class)

I hope we get you - you sound terrific!

You do sound great!! Dd had great success with the sat class by the assistance league… Raised her score significantly! Also suggest that you read the bu today newspaper online to give you hints for essay. It’s a terrific school…you will love it!
