As a Junior looking at Ivies/Top 20s, What Can I do to Better My Chances?!?!?

I would suggest that you plan this summer carefully. Can’t tell from your summary whether your EC’s are superficial or not nor can I tell what you are interested in studying in college. You have very solid AP test scores - only a very small percentage of students score a 5 on the Biology exam. At this point it’s not going to be test scores or academic rigor you need to work on, but what makes you unique - what will make your application compelling when Yale or Brown or Cal Tech or MIT has hundreds of other students with similar test scores to pick from? Right now, January of your junior year - plan this summer carefully. If you were in an elevator with an admissions officer from the college of your dreams - what would be the concise summary of what you are about as a student or as a person?

focus on strong essay topics…GPA and SATs are so high that another “A” or another 30 points will not matter. Focus time on demonstrating interest (emailing regional admissions people/visiting schools/planning interviews etc) Good luck!

Your class rank says 10%. If you are at 10.xx% You should work to get to 9.xx%. That will help improve your odds.

bump… please give advice guys!?!

As everyone previously told you, your essays need to be really good in order to stand out in the admission process. If you do that I imagine you’ll find success with a few schools. Maybe I didn’t read your list of AP classes properly, but you only took 5, or will you take more sr year? I’m assuming you will, but make sure those scores are high. In all honesty, your application is really solid. Just keep up the good work, and CONTINUE participating in EC activities.

bump thank you @YellowCockatiel‌

I think that your stats are great and you have great chance if you don’t need aid. Otherwise, it will go down a bit. good luck!
