As a Mechanical Engineering major will I ever need my chem book again?

So I'm trying to decide whether selling my chem book back is worth it. I plan on keeping my calc book but seeing as how I technically don't have any more chem courses after this semester I'm leaning toward going ahead and selling it. The extra cash would be nice... really nice. However, I will be taking things like thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials engineering(which they say chem is pre-req so obviously somewhat chem involved). So is hanging onto the chem book going to be handy later on?

Here's the path for mechanical engineers at VT:

IMO it seems I don't really need it. Thermo and fluids is more phyics related right?

If the book isn’t required for any more of your courses then I would sell it. You can easily find the material within any gen chem text book online. Plus, you’re still young and will want to stay mobile to follow any future job/grad school prospects. Amassing a library of textbooks can really become a pain in the ass

As a MechE I took chemistry during my freshman year and never used the textbook again. But I never sold it, and in fact, I don’t think I ever sold any of my textbooks. When I graduated in 2006 I had several boxes of text boxes. Since 2006 I have also bought many other books because I like to read. I’ve relocated several times for my job in 4.5 years and moving those books is indeed a real pain. I will most likely start discarding books that were purchased after graduation but I will continue to hold onto my engineering textbooks for many more years.

At my internship this summer, at least 5 of the senior engineers I worked with said saving their textbooks was such a necessity. It’s one of those things that you won’t need it when you have it, but the second you don’t have it, you’ll need it. But they did say that they do reference their old textbooks time to time.
