As I begin my College search...

I have listed my top 5 schools that I would like to attend:

University of Colorado at Boulder

Rutgers University

Michigan State University

The Ohio State University

DePaul University

I was just wondering if anyone has some information on any one of these schools, maybe even a few tips?

Thanks!

I hope you are a resident of Colorado, New Jersey, Michigan, or Ohio.

If so, go to the school in your state.

I concur. They are all pretty equivalent in academic strength (Rutgers and Mich State are on the top for that).

Visit them. If you don't have to worry about money, choose the one you like best. If you have to worry about FA, go in-state. It's cheaper.

Specific programs can make a difference, however. Are you interested in anything in particular?

Where are you from?

I'm from NJ and Rutgers is very close to my hometown which is why it's not my number one, it feels like it's just a little too close.

I have visited both Rutgers (obviously) and CU at Boulder (I stayed in the dorms for 3 weeks at CU).

I was hoping to go into Entrepreneurship or like Business and Marketing, something along the lines of that.

Babson = Number One for Entreprenuership... Every person there is a Business major.

My dad was telling me about Babson, I don't know the smallest bit about it, any information? Location and such?

College Search - Babson College - At a Glance

It's 30-ish mins outside of Boston.

I wouldn't recommend Babson. It's not very well-rounded. If you change your mind about business or decide to pursue another passion in addition to business, you're left with no options. And you wouldn't get as much of a campus experience.

I'd do Rutgers for instate tuition, or Colorado (they have the most amazing campus, and the students there are incredibly happy...strong academics too).

Rutgers (in-state tuition and comparable academics, which are equal to or better than Colorado) > Colorado.

Haha..I never said Colorado was better. I just said that it would be my second choice after Rutgers, because of the amazing campus and atmosphere.

DePaul is located in a very neat area of Chicago--Lincoln Park. Lots to do there. I've known a few DePaul grads. They were happy with it. D was about ready to add it to her list until we noticed the school calendar. It's based on the quarter system. The last quarter ends in mid-June. Her father, myself, and D each concluded independently that the calendar would limit her opportunities for summer jobs and internships. I really was wishing that wasn't the case.

Ohio State--HUGE campus! We had friends attending law and MBA programs there years ago. On a visit he insisted on giving a walking tour of the campus. I thought it would never end! (it was summer and pretty hot/humid)

Colorado-Boulder is also on my D's list. We don't know much about it, except that it seemed to have a really good Spanish dept.
