the grades with my junior year are my first semester grades, people say that you're junior year is your hardest...I, of course, did not believe them...but I'm improving
those are not all of the classes that i plan to take during my senior year
my school works on an A-day/B-day block schedule so we take all eight classes are year long
I am applying for both the math honor society and the national honor society in the spring

ECs-
varsity tennis (soph, junior, and senior)
technology student association
junior class council
unity club (went on outward bound trip...came back and we started the unity club)
national society of black engineers (co-founder)
hosa-1st place in sports med. competition at regional level...state level is in april
athletic trainer for var. and jv soccer and men's track and var/jv tennis
Mu Alpha Theta- mathematics honor society

I suggest you take harder classes in senior year

Forget about French 1 and "Fundamentals of Technology", turn Calc AB into BC

I'd say you have about a 1 in 10 chance.

If you're going to take French 1 and Fundamentals of Technology for improving college admission chances (which I doubt is your motive), then listen to thomaschau b/c they won't help you. But if you want to take them because you are interested in the subjects, then don't listen to thomaschau and just do what you want. They certainly won't hurt you. Besides, it's not like you have many more APs you can take besides maybe a science AP. Colleges want people with interests, not people with perfect stats.

thanks darkling

I'd caution you against ONLY pursuing your interests and disregarding how the courses will look on your record.

Of course, you'll need to strike a balance between interests and your plans, but consider my question--is taking a fun-looking course worth risking (whether slightly or greatly) your chances at your dream school?

There must be an interesting course that also happens to be a more challenging one.

But at least take my suggestion that you take BC Calculus instead of AB. You won't need to compromise your interests to do so, and it will be more challenging.

Yes, i agree with that last part, but some schools don't offer BC, like mine. But luckily, my teacher is awesome and she's putting in extra hours after school to host BC study sessions. yay calc!
