Thanks jenuwin01 - I’m all for being comfy but I don’t have much $$$ so I’ll go price those mattress toppers.

As far as backpacks, I got grief in 9th grade for showing up with a rolling backpack. I guess only nerds used rolling backpacks… It’s practically brand new (since I used it only a few days!) but my guess is that rolling backpacks are not popular in college either, right? :)

Okay, thanks everyone. I think the bag switching off thing is a good idea!

I also had another question.
Should I keep my Thursday discussion class at 8-9am or change it to a Friday class from 3-4pm? On both of those days I also have a class from 11am-12pm.

It is true! I’ve never seen him there though, and neither has anyone I’ve asked, haha. So, don’t expect to see him often. I believe he’s an upper division psych major so his classes are pretty specialized by now (the psych building is a bit removed from the main campus).

For continuing students, my finaid is up already! so check yours if you haven’t already (: … apparently, it’s still not out for some people though.

thankfully my gift aid is the same as last year!

for previous freshmen: do we get e-mailed our housing information before it gets mailed to us on sept 1? if we do, does anyone remember around when we get it?

How about those late-night snacks: Should I stack up with snacks bought from, let’s say, Costco or should I just buy them at the various convenience stores around campus?

I would also like to keep some soy milk in the fridge (eeeuuww, I know, I know, but I’m extremely lactose intolerant…). Should I go to the grocery store before Move-In Day or should I wait and see? I won’t have a car so I thought about bringing along some goodies…

How far is the nearest grocery store? Is there a shuttle or bus?

the nearest store would be stater bros on blaine and chicago you can take the bus their. with snaks hit up the c store with them dining dollars but with milk bring your own , they never have milk they always run out

The closest bus stop to campus is right in front of the school, but not exactly where it is. You should ask people around there, and you’ll find the closest one. it’s only 3minutes walk from campus : )

The train station is pretty far from campus. So, you’ll need to take the bus. just stay in the bus for about 20 minutes and it’ll take you to the metro: )

I don’t have a car so until a befriend a car owner, could someone please help me with the following:

Is the public bus system pretty reliable to go shopping?
