Hi I had a question about dorming. Could I dorm for the first 2 quarters or does it have to be the whole year?

I’m pretty sure the housing contract is for the whole year. But living in the dorms is a great experience (though expensive…) :)

How do I contact admissions if I received a D or F?
I just recently got accepted through waitlist.

I have been admitted to UCR for transfer for fall 2011 and im really really excited to go but i really dont think im going to finish 2 of my classes with a C or better. I am taking 24.5 units, one of the classes is Calc 1 which i dont need to transfer (Psyc major) and the other is a Chem class that i would use to transfer.

So my question is will UCR rescind my acceptance if i dont pass these classes with a C? And would they let me make up the units and the Chem class or equivalent in the summer before attending?..Thanks for any info

How difficult is the process of transferring from one UC to another UC? Specifically, from UCR to UCSD. Or SDSU(yes, I am aware it is a Cal State).

If you keep up with your grades, then it should be okay. If you’re going to transfer though, I’d suggest that you go through the cc route.

You have to check the pre-reqs and make sure you’re taking the classes necessary to transfer.

kaptainkeepa: It depends on your stats. This year, I’m UCR -> UCLA, though UCD and UCB rejected me. It seems like UCSD is getting harder to get in, too. I can’t speak for the Cal state, though.

gabe78: tbh, I think you’ll be fine, though I would probably contact admissions and let them know just in case.

hey I just wanted to know if you took both the AP English Lit and AP English Lang. can they stack on English credits or will they just accept one?

You need to take English 1 A-B-C courses.
If you passed both AP Lit and AP Lang, then you only need to take English 1C

Is there an option to transfer as a sophomore to another UC school? Or must you wait till your junior year? (p.s. I am debating whether to transfer or not, maybe I will enjoy the school)

Am I the only one who enjoys SoCal’s summer??? :(

a lot of people enjoy SoCal summer… lol it’s always fun to go to the beaches in SoCal. But keep in mind that Riverside is especially hot during summer (unless you’re taking summer school at UCR).

No…I am talking about enjoying the warmth compared to the cold seasons.

does anyone know if the gym(s) on campus are any good?

the rec center is okay. i think its subpar compared to most of the other comparable colleges around here. they’re going to rebuild it though and its supposed to be ready in 2014 i believe.

^ Do UCR students know the difference between “its” and “it’s”?

Please don’t feed the ■■■■■■ GrammarNazi. Nuff said.

yes i know the difference grammarnazi. but when typing in a casual setting im too lazy to use apostrophes. It’s not that i don’t know the difference or have to think about the difference to get it right, I intentionally leave it out because im too lazy. bad habit from texting with a 1-9 keypad (too much trouble to add apostrophes without a full keypad). I only care about proper usage of they’re, their, there; your, you’re; and than, then. Obviously when im writing an essay, i do care.

Are the business and law majors impacted? I know UCR has a great business program going on, not sure about the law one.

business is impacted, not sure about law major. But I know UCR has pretty good law program
