I stopped being paid because I wasn’t doing the necessary lab assistant duties anymore (i.e. refilling lab stock, autoclaving, maintaining mouse rooms, etc.). Essentially I had quit my lab assisting job once my research started.

My roommate however continued her lab assisting while doing research. Smartly, she’s putting parts of her lab experiments while she’s waiting for things to be done in her lab assisting job, so essentially she’s being paid to do both lab assisting and research. There’s pros and cons to doing that. Pros: you get money. Cons: If you don’t time it well, you can spend a lot more time in lab than you need to.

I took Physics 8A last spring and I honestly don’t remember ANYTHING. Should I review from the 8A textbook before the fall semester starts? Or do you not need to know any of the material covered from 8a in Physics 8B?

@whodis: Someone asked this before. My response and feeling was (and still is) that Physics 8A is extremely important for 8B, but almost everyone else who responded in that thread said it wasn’t lol, so I don’t know. I would definitely recommend reviewing 8A concepts. FYI I did very well in both 8A & 8B.
