Ask a USC Alum!

Life for out-of-state students is just like it is for in-state students. Everyone who isn’t from LA is adjusting to a new environment, there’s no discrimination against non-California people…I understand the point behind your question, but it’s a bit silly! I am from Northern California and I didn’t have a car my freshman year. I took the bus and rarely went home just like everyone else.

This depends. I stayed in LA. My boyfriend, who is originally from Philadelphia, stayed in LA. A few of our friends also stayed – but a lot went home, went to grade school or got jobs in a different town. Hard to say. Where you end up post-graduation depends on your job prospects and future goals.

Hawkwings’ answer was spot on. Freshman year, though, you’re probably going to go home! Most freshman do. (I went home the summer between freshman and sophomore year, as well as the summer between sophomore and junior year since I lived in USC housing my first two years.)

When you first walked onto the campus, did you have that feeling of being home? I have class there every weds and even though I’m not a student (current senior in hs), I just have this feeling that I’m meant to be there…maybe I’m just getting my hopes up/being paranoid, or maybe is this something that a lot of people experience?

What are 3 things you liked most about USC? (not general things such as student body, LA area etc etc. I’m talking specific things that are only at USC)

What is the policy with cars? Can you have them on campus?

There’s no driving on campus. Cars are mainly used to do things off campus. There’s also a parking fee of course.

If I understand the question correctly, MAG325, yes, you are allowed to bring a car to campus. You just have to apply for-and pay for!-parking.
