Ask About Groton

@DandSMom:

We received an email in early February with instructions on how to login to the portal. We (our child and us) then received another email a few days ago reminding us how to access the admission decision via the portal on March 10th. The email encouraged us to reach out to the admissions team if we had any trouble logging in. I would recommend a quick email or call to the admissions team — it sounds like you should have received this info already.

I hope this helps! Good luck!

@TatarGoHabs
Thanks for the reply. I will contact the admissions team tomorrow.
Good luck to you too!

Hi! I got accepted to Groton this year and was really curious about how strong their Visual Arts program is. On my visit, it seemed a little smaller than the average boarding school art facility but I’m unsure if this is indicative of its strength in that area. Thank you!

@fruitjuice
Are there things in visual arts you’re particularly interested in? I don’t know that much about the arts program but the I do know there are some amazing artists in the student body and the school has a lot of art “stuff” going on all the time. The program is robust and lots of opportunities are laid out for kids - teachers driving kids here or there for art competitions, etc.

I know the kids use the art rooms after hours a lot both for artistic and non artistic pursuits. ?

@ReluctantDad Does Groton School have Prom nights ?

@Tgame123 I will let a student answer this but Groton does have dances such as spring fling and on our DCs favourite this year was silent Disco. Groton does celebrate Prize Day for its senior class.

@one1ofeach
If you don’t mind sharing, what grade is your child in? Feel free to PM me. Thanks!

Sophomore at Groton.

@Tgame123 Groton doesn’t have prom, but as @ReluctantDad mentioned, there are two formals every year. Unlike prom, these are open to all grades and there’s no pressure to go with a date (many students go with friend dates).

@fruitjuice I took ceramics and woodshop and loved them both. Groton has more art options than you could possibly take. Groton Admission recently posted on Instagram about a friend of mine who’s an incredibly talented painter, and I think he paints in class, for fun, and for set design. If you have specific art interests, definitely reach out to the appropriate teacher.

I have to say I have been very impressed with grotonadmission Instagram, they are doing an amazing job at showing what life on campus is like and answering the questions. Their videos are great and I encourage everyone to go see them.
