can freshman seminars be used to satisfy the breadth requirements?

No because most of them are under two units. Breadth requirements have to be satisfied by classes of at least two units.

If I submitted my community college transcript to Berkeley so they can verify my grades, does the credit automatically transfer or do I have to submit another form too?

They will probably go through the process of transferring credits according to ASSIST agreements if it is a California CC. If it is not, you might want to contact them and ask what their process is.

Regardless, you probably will need to speak with your major department to determine the transferability of courses in your major. I hope you kept your syllabi and relevant coursework (papers, projects)!

Well, I took math 150 and 151 at a CA Community College and want to transfer over the credit so I won’t have to take Math 1A and 1B.

If ASSIST says it transfers as such, that is likely how it will be handled. If you’re concerned, though, call and speak with someone in Admissions.

I’m someone who’s interested in Engineering, yet I’m also interested in Psychology AND Political Science. So I was wondering, could I do at least two of them even if they’re from different colleges?

Thanks very much in advance!

You mean double-major? I wouldn’t recommend it. You can do a minor, in which case you absolutely can hop colleges.

What classes should I take as pre-Haas???

is Stats 21 too hard? Is UGBA 10 too hard? Is Econ 1 too easy if I’ve taken AP Macro and am taking a Micro college course for no credit this summer?

which english 1A class is easier to receive a good grade? R&C A , comp lit A or asian american studies?

UGBA 10 and Econ 1 are both required for Haas so you have to take them. You have to do well in them to have a good chance at Haas so I wouldn’t worry about “too easy.” I think Stats 21 is required as well.

What is Berkeley’s opinion on graduating from high school early?

when can you request that your bed be lofted? will it be around the time that you are assigned a roommate? because i’ve applied for housing and there wasn’t an option

I took some classes at a CC for high school credit and college credit –> when I submit the transcripts to berkeley will my classes automatically be entered as college credit? I don’t want them to be because I got a lot of B’s haha…

the won’t be included in your GPA at Cal, if that is your worry.

You request your bed to be lofted when you actually move in. You do it with the front office of your unit.

How is the lifestyle in the city outside of the college? Like on weekends or holidays. Are there nice places to go with friends or girlfriend. Like what kind of restaurants, movies, food and the mood itself. Are there big parties in that area like there are in LA? What would you suggest to do outside of studying to calm down and chill for some time.

Whenever I have free time, I always head to San Francisco with my friends. There’s a lot of restaurants there, and a couple of movie theaters. You can also go to Fisherman’s Wharf or Great America (which is like the only theme park around the bay area).

there’re just as many parties as in LA. cal students often run off to SF to play, but ppl shouldn’t discount the east bay for great times w/friends, too. alot of massives, and of course, SF pride parade (and love parade in october) are just giant parties all day and night!

for low-key day trips (romantic or otherwise), the north bay is one of the most amazing places in california. marin county has beautiful scenery (think point reyes) and is where all your old millionaire hippies live, so you’ll see some amazing architecture/nature combos.

Is it easy to get lost on the campus if you’re a freshman? Can somebody describe the campus.
