By the way, I am applying as a junior.

Did you take part in the music program while you were at CRH? What was it like? And is it difficult to maintain the balance between extra-curricular activities and academics? (especially as a 3rd former?)
I know that CRH is an amazing school and it is my #1 choice but I saw some really really bad reviews of the school from the alum’s, which I personally find pathetic that they say those things about their own school, but I’m just wondering but: are there some mean students there? (“bullies”) and I don’t know how to put this into right words but, are there like extreme racism? (Like no interacts between people with diff. backgrounds) B/c never in my life have I experienced racism, and I grew up in a “super white” town in IL and I just want to make sure of that before I decide to go. (Obviously if I was given the opportunity to study there)
Thanks! I’ll look forward for your reply!
Hi! I am in your exact position and I am so glad I found this. I am terrified because I got in off the waitlist and am staring to doubt that I will be able to handle the academic load without being a complete and total loner. Reading this was really helpful and I was wondering if you could tell me how this first year was for you because I have so many of the same questions. Thank you!
hi @klt11901 i honestly wouldn’t stress too much, i’m sure you will be absolutely fine! Honestly, when you get to Choate i’m sure no one will know the difference between people accepted straight away and those on the waitlist, as you will all be coming from different countries and school systems etc. so everyone will have to adapt in someway! To be frank: they wouldn’t have offered you a place in any way, waitlist or not, if the admissions office did not think you could cope. I’m joining in september too, not as a freshman, but am an international student so it will be a challenge academically for me too.
I have been following the “Everything about choate” thread which has been pretty helpful too:

hope that is slightly helpful in some way!
Hi @choatiegal Thank you so much, I will definitely look at that!
