I plan on asking one of my professors if he's got space in his lab for me. I'm going to talk to him about it some time this week, probably tomorrow.

Anyway I wanted to make a short "resume" or "handout", whatever you want to call it, to give to him listing relevant courses, GPA, etc. I've had no actual lab experience except for classes with a lab component... should I specifically make a note of these classes or something?
Is there anything else I should (or shouldn't) do before going and asking him?

Big one is to check out his research and be able to speak about it at a beginner's level.

Alright that's good... I've already read several of his papers.

Speaking of a lab position, is it odd that my professor never asked for a resume? I had him for 2 classes, so he knows me pretty well. I'm just a bit surprised that he never asked for one. (I am currently working in the lab).

Also, if I'm stuck doing data entry, should I quit?

What BDM said. At this point, professors only care about interest. Previous research experience/lab work is unnecessary and might even be a hindrance since professors want you to learn to do things their way.
