Anyone know what this award is given for?

Is this is?

Sorry, mom2, I am missing the reference to the award in the link.

Sophocles, the ASME Rising Leader Award is given by UA ASME to the few freshmen and sophomores who we believe possess the ability to be leaders in the college of engineering, both in academics and extracurricular activities. You have to possess a high GPA, show involvement in activities, have leadership potential, etc. BTW, were you chosen?

Thank you for the helpful info, Mesquite! I’ll pass it along to my son.

We knew nothing about it when son was told he was nominated. Not knowing what to expect, he was quite surprised when he was informed today that he was selected to receive the award.

Congratulations!!

Thanks, NJ. Another good reason for a Roll Tide!! :)

Oh my gosh – congratulations!!!

Oh, sophocles, that’s fantastic! So proud of him!

Wonderful! What an honor! Congrats to your son and your family.

Thanks y’all! Another testament to the world of opportunities available at Bama!
