1.What is the average pay with an AA in this field .For example the average student with an AA vs a student in the top 5 percent with an AA.

2.With the current recession and situation in the Gulf how likely is it to find a job after finishing this program . For example the average student with an AA vs a student in the top 5 percent with an AA.

3.Do most oil company's offer tuition reimbursement for continuing fields in petro ?

Thank you in advance!

most PetEs work abroad…

ive never heard of an associates in PetE technology thgh…you probably live in texas haha
jk

yes I do lol. The program is called petroleum eng technologist!

Why not just go for the BS in Petro Eng?

Just a couple more years of school and you got Triple the pay and Triple the Benefits.

Plus 3 weeks on/3 weeks off.

Also, PE degree recognized Internationally.

But the degree your talking about is only in Texas.

Im sure you could get into Texas Tech or something.

hey alchemist007 are Mechanical engineering and Petroleum engineering related? Can I do a Bs in Mechanical and do a Ms in Petroleum engineering

well its easier said then done finishing with a BA at the cost of eng school with no finical assistance. Not to be rude but can anyone answer the questions above instead of offering advice on other matters.

Beckham they are not related because it is not really a geo/earth science, but you can get a MS in it by taking some classes. They don’t really correlated so a minor might be better easier.if you have the time def go for the MS,even though it is kinda not need in petro eng.As of now oil companies need bodies, people with exp 3+,and at least a AA.

BTW i spoke to a few professors, eng at bp and exxon and I have the answered my questions if any one is interested.

starting pay=45,000 to 55,000 full benefits ,including at least 80% tuition reimbursement.
If you work offshore the pay goes up. Some Petro tech earn 50 an hour.

With the current recession and situation in the Gulf they are still looking for young bodies more than ever. This is because most of the Petro eng are going to retire soon and they are becoming out dated.
