astronomy and physics universities?

Im looking to major in either astronomy AND physics, or astronomy.
the problem is, i have a 3.36 gpa.
good cirrucs, and a 32 act (SAT this saturday >.<)

what are some universities that have good astro programs, but are more lenient on the acceptance scale?

Not sure about physics, but do take a look at U of Arizona in Tucson for astronomy...a top program in the country. You might also go to U of Hawaii at Hilo and check to see if they have an astronomy program. Some the world's most impressive telescopes and astronomy research is done on the island of Hawaii, so I would be surprised if the university there doesn't have a major.

Yup, just checked...U of H at Hilo does have a program and does make use of facilities at Mauna Kea.

Blanca...another thought. I can see you are from California. Be sure to check out the Western Undergraduate Exchange program...you can find it on the web or ask your counselor...I believe both schools I mentioned participate. You get tuition at a reduced rate, rather than have to pay the full out-of-state costs.

CU Boulder. Those scores will get you in, excellent physics dept (3 Nobel winners, faculty very accessible to students), superb aeronautics programs (20+ astronauts are alumni), tons of research opportunities. My soph daughter is a physics major there and loves it.
