Is there one company that gets better service at Colby?

Our family has AT&T. My Colby student has no problems with his phone while at school but it is a basic flip phone, no internet etc. When I am there with my IPhone I have very sporadic service and often cannot get calls for hours at a time. That being said, I would be very careful if you have get AT&T and want to use a smartphone
Look at the AT&T coverage map

I have ATT for my iPhone. Lets just say I want verizon to pick up the iPhone ASAP.

Verizon has better 3G coverage in Maine than AT&T.

Verizon coverage is stellar on the hill. If you’re into AT&T for the iPhone, check this out:

[AppleInsider | Report: Apple to launch Verizon iPhone in Q3 2010](Report: Apple to launch Verizon iPhone in Q3 2010 | AppleInsider)

It’s supposed to hit the US any month now.

What about T-Mobile?

yeah im realllly hoping the new 4g iphone goes to verizon after hearing at&t gets bad coverage in Maine.

I’ve lived in Maine my whole life, traveled around the state – definitely get U.S. Cellular. You can be in the middle of a lake and still get service.

Trying to decide whether to upgrade to a smart phone for my son. I’ve actually been encouraging him to consider getting an iPhone. Money is pretty tight though and here’s my question: Would it be workable to use an Itouch with the campus wifi instead in order to save the monthly data plan charges? (And just keep the non-smart phone?)

^that’s exactly what I’m doing
