I just felt compelled to start this incredibly random thread.
I apparently walk very quickly (fast pace, long strides) and though people have been telling me this for quite some time, I noticed it the other day when only a studious freshman was able to match my pace through the halls (I'm a senior...). At what pace do you walk (at school, of course)?

When I have to a class, I usually walk quickly because most of my classes are on the opposite side of the building in my school.

When I have a science lab, I usually stroll slowly around the hallways during my break and when I have gym I walk pretty slowly.

The most annoying thing in the world is the people who walk really slowly in the hallway. I always get behind a wall of three people, covering the hallway so I can not get past them.

apparently i walk faster than everyone else, because it seems i always get stuck behind the slow walkers. most of the time they form a wall as thecolororange said.

My friends always tell me I walk quick, so I guess I walk pretty fast.
I find it SO annoying when people walk so slow and form a wall where you can’t pass by (like you’ve all mentioned). It’s also annoying when, not only are they slow, but they stop right in the middle of the hallway to chat with friends. The least they could do is move to the side.

In the morning when I park my car and enter the building, the freshmen pile up on the sides of the hallways to hang out and it’s hard to squeeze by through the halls -_- Just imagine the hallway as an artery and the people are the plaque. That’s what it’s like …

I never walk anywhere, I just run.

My classmates say it looks kinda goofy. =|

I walk pretty fast; probably one of the fastest in the school.

There seems to be a trend amongst CCers that they all walk pretty fast. People usually tell me I walk faster than the average person but that is because most of my classes are far from eachother. Although whenever I am walking with my friends or my class is nearby, I tend to walk slower.
I agree and unfortunately, there happens to be several of them at my school. :/

I walk very fast and this means i will live longer lol

I have always wondered if walking pace correlates with intelligence. I think my long pondered question has been answered.

it seems that the dumb, unmotivated people walk slower. the type of people who walk fast have somewhere to go in school, maybe they’re not necessarily intelligent but much more lively and somewhat sanguine.

adults who walk faster may tend to live longer

I think I walk pretty fast, my friends always tell me to slow down haha but I feel as though I am walking normally. But people walking slowly is one of my pet peeves, dont even get me started about people who stop to talk right in the middle of the hallway.

^^The first time I saw you mention living longer, I assumed you were referring to Einstein’s theory of relativity and the fact that time slows as you move faster.

@puggly123: I was always convinced of the same thing! haha

Since the “stopping in the middle of the hallway and pretending to be oblivious to all those trying to walk past” seems to annoy quite a few people, I think I’ll share one of my related experiences. I became so frustrated with these groups of students who clog up the hallways at school that I decided to simply try and walk through the miniscule space that was not occupied by a moving body in the middle of their group. I walked up, expecting that they would move at least slightly, in order to simply allow me to pass through…they didn’t. Instead, I basically stopped “the wall” and had to halt, move around four people, and then proceed to AP Econ…kids these days! haha

Quite fast for my height, but I’m short, so normal, I guess. I can’t stand slow walkers though. I also detest being late, so I walk pretty quickly at school.

I walk slowly. I’m just a chill person like that :)

I walk fast. I walk in between the two lanes of human traffic because you can weave through if you are skilled.

I walk extremely quickly, and I will take a new path if the walkway I’m on is packed with people. I’m a very productive walker.

I walk very quickly. Probably just my aggressive, somewhat arrogant ENTJ personality. If I want to talk to someone, I stop by the side of the hall for a conversation rather than slowing down traffic.

I like maps and pathways, and I plan out my route as I walk.

I love being a senior. Whenever a gaggle of obnoxious little freshmen pack up the hall in front of me, I walk really close behind them and let my feet fall loud enough to be heard. They usually get right out of my way :)

I used to walk crazy fast but my recent knee surgery has slowed me down a bit. Ha.

This is actually a great topic.

I give my dad a hard time, for what me and my brother coined the “NYS” or New York Sprint. We line in NY and people are always moving so fast and have no care for anyone else. When I visited UNC and UVA my dad was making us look like fools lol. Everyone else was walking slowly and saying hello to everyone. My dad, on the other hand, was sprinting like he was in the NY Marathon.
