Does anyone have any information regarding the "A" and "B" rating systems for recruited athletes? Such as acceptance percentages or other info? Thanks.

No one has any information about this?

I'm not 100% sure about this, but this is what I've heard from a colleague going to Dartmouth for lacrosse next year. "A" basically means you're in, no questions asked, not many of these are given out per sport. "B" means that you're chances are good. The coach will write something on your paper and possibly talk to admissions for you. If you're grades are avg/ a little below avg for the school, you'll prob get in. "C" doesn't mean too much. If you're exactly even with someone, but have "C" marking, you'll get in.

Thank you very much. The coach told me he gave me a "B" but I wasn't sure what it meant exactly.

What would my chances be with

Male
All boys Catholic School
2090 SAT 760v 590m 740w
86 GPA
Cuban
"B" athletic rating
Good EC's
Good Recs

not very good.

very low gpa and a horrible math score does not bode well for you

Thanks for the honest input. I don't really have my hopes too high for columbia.

dont think you dont have any shot...youre a urm and your sats are somewhat competative...but in the RD round i dont think so.

if you applied ED, that would have been differentq

Well the coach could only give support in the RD round, so if I had applied ED I wouldn't have had any of that benefit.

Anyone else with an opinion on my chances?

i dont think ur chances are bad i got a 2030 on my SAT and the coach told me i was pretty much in for volleyball
and i got a likely letter
i go to an all girls catholic high school too
so i wouldn't be too discouraged
