TAMS Student here. If you’re in TAMS, you apply to schools as a freshman. TAMS doesn’t seem to help admissions odds a ton, but you do have the opportunity to do research under a professor on campus, especially over the summer after Junior year, which can make great essays, resume additions, and experiences. You can take AP exams if you want: I expect TAMS to prepare you for calc BC, Biology, Physics, and US History with some studying from test prep books. Chemistry and English probably take extensive self-studying. Very few TAMS students stay at UNT, and it would be a mistake to for engineering since you could go to a school with far better resources and professors after TAMS.
