Attention Applied Stanford Students: Share a strong hook

Dude, yeah. that was soo funny.
Giving maps to Iraq such as and Africa so we can help the Americans such as.

If Youtube has it, I will in a moment! haha!

I have no idea what most of these acronyms mean. (ISEF? JSHS? NSH??) what is this stufff???

ISEF that I mentioned above as one of my hooks stands for...
International Science and Engineering Fair

I'm hoping my hooks will count for something in the admissions process, or I have no chance for a "On behalf of the admissions office, I am pleased..." tomorrow evening. I have three pretty big hooks to [hopefully] balance out the not-so-Stanford-caliber grades: I've been playing piano for 11 years (which is shocking since I was born with 12 fingers & 12 toes which were all fused and had my last operation at 5); I developed and maintain an automated pet simulation game (I started coding at the end of 8th grade, opened at the end of 9th); and I've spent the past three summers on Wall Street at a pretty big brokerage firm. Academically I've been "Ok", but not exactly "Ok" on Stanford standards until this year. Maybe the upward trend of improvement throughout HS will help for something...

My hook would be writing software which integrates order entry into manufacturing to take out the human factor. So when you click that 'Save Order' button, all of the sheet metal parts are automatically programmed. It's a completely parametric system so you just enter in the size of the parts, what kind of part you want, and it does the rest of the work for you. The company I work for makes aluminum cabinets by the way. We've made orders for many NASCAR teams, the military, Formula 1 racers, so there is some prestige behind it.

Hook: Athlete

My son just got accepted. He has great stats but not very many ECs and no "hook" to speak of. He is a wonderful person and I believe the thing that set him apart is his work on the family farm.

My son got accepted. His hook: he has taken a semifinalist role in the Siemens twice.
